Duck Feet

We read a book called " I wish that I had duck feet" by Dr Seuss.

We wrote about what we wished we could have suchas duck feet, stag horns, fairy wings and cheetah legs.  We though about why we wanted them and how they could change us.  Then we realised that sometime not all good things are great, sometimes they have a down sight too.  If we had duck feet, maybe walking would be a problem?

So, next time we were in the pool we got out the closest thing we could find to duck feet, FLIPPERS.  We put them on when we were in the pool and boy could we swim fast!  Some of us could be really tall by putting them on the bottom and some of us turned into mermaids.  But, when we tried to walk in them outside the pool we wobbled, fell over and had to walk really funny.

Maybe we don't want duck feet after all.

Statistics

We have just started to explore statistics.  We had no idea what this giant maths word even meant but now we know that its about finding the answer to a question by looking at what people vote for.
Today we tried to answer the question - What should we repeat next year at camp?
We looked at what we had for dinner, burgers.  What fillings did we like and not like?  We found that not many people has tomatoe or carrot, so next time we could leave these out.  Then we looked at the activities we we able to choose from.  We voted for our top 3.  This let us see that animal survival and the hydroslide would definetly need to be repeated next time we go!  Then we looked at bedtime. Who actually went to sleep and when.  We discovered that far too many people had to be told too many times to go to sleep.  Next camp we need to make sure this doesn't happen.

Check back soon to see us learn some more!
